How To Develop Inner Peace Through Pursuing Your Passion

For years, I have only toyed with my business, my passion, and my purpose. I’m done. I’m ready to begin and I’m ready to finally believe in myself. Wanting to follow your passion and actually doing it, however, are two very different things. Pursuing your passion takes courage, and it comes with many risks and challenges. But, these setbacks cannot scare us forever; and, eventually, we all reach a point where we evaluate what we’re doing, how it makes us feel, and we desire to follow our dreams.

How To Develop Inner Peace

Something I’ve connected to this past month for some reason is the story of Icarus. We’ve all heard the story of Icarus as a cautionary tale. Don’t fly too close to the sun. But, I think the feeling of flying freely and entirely to the bright warm sun would be triumphant. I just want to release the fear and fly as high as my heart desires.

So much of my life has been enveloped in fear. I mean I’ve paralyzed myself with fear for so long. But, I’m done. And, this isn’t easy. I don’t like opening up and letting the world see me for me. But, I’m embracing the discomfort and doing it anyway.

What Drives You?

Some people know exactly what fuels their heart, and though they may not always follow it, they are always sure of their passion and purpose. If you’re like me, however, you have a hard time figuring out exactly what drives you. Often, I bounce back and forth between ideas. Sometimes, things seem exciting in the moment, but I soon fall away from it. And, I’ve struggled to understand how to develop inner peace this way.

Finding your true passion can be slow process of trial and error. But, discovering what drives you and pursuing that leads to inner peace and joy.

Slow Down

The world we live in can often be a hindrance in pursuing your passion. We live in a fast-paced world where everyone tries to do everything as fast as possible and to quickly move onto the next thing. This rarely gives us time to think and reflect and our passions are put on the back burner. Life is not a race, and slowing down can lead you to inner peace. When you actually take time to reflect and think about what you are doing you can fully embrace the smaller moments and find the path that fuels you.

Find Your Inner Peace

So, if you’d like to follow me on this journey, I’d really appreciate your company. Let’s slow down, enjoy the moments, and finally follow our hearts.

As Oscar Wilde said,

"Never regret thy fall
O, Icarus of the fearless flight.
For the greatest tragedy of them all,
is never to feel the burning light."
